The WalkWithADoc Veterans Walk was held at Eldridge Park on Saturday, August 17. Almost 100 people, including many Vietnam veterans and a WW2 veteran participated to honor those who have served our country in the military. Opening remarks by Brian Cassetta MD were followed by comments by Denny Wolfe. Denny gave an overview of the creation of the Vietnam Veterans Museum in Elmira. Surav Amin, a patriotic 9 year old boy from Corning sang God Bless the USA. Christina Cassetta prayed for all veterans and active duty soldiers. Denny Wolfe led the walk toward the Vietnam Monument and then we all continued for ½ mile around the lake. A riderless carousel tribute was introduced by Denny. John Knapp played Taps as the riderless carousel whirled. Christina Cassetta and Ed Frawley documented the event with photos and videos.
