he Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society Corporation’s mission is for charitable, educational, and cultural enrichment to be achieved through the distribution of its funds in order to restore, operate, and maintain the 1920’s Eldridge Park carousel, building and associated grounds so that this historically revered, unique cultural symbol of the past, and prized menagerie can promote community cohesiveness and be enjoyed by families of the entire region. By providing a tangible place to go where one may reminisce the past, embrace the present and plan for the future, an intergenerational, cross cultural connection is bound to occur and therefore strengthen family and community ties.
