A note from the carver:

This figure is a machine carved blank which is using a fiberglass reproduction of an original as the master… so the carving will be very accurate to represent a Dentzel giraffe. I have a good friend Ron Purdy who has been carving for years. I wanted to get a head start on the giraffe body so I asked for his assistance in skimming and showing location in the design on the giraffe’s body. Ron has done a fine job as you can see from the body photo.
