THE STORY OF THE HONEY BEAR

John Kolanach has begun his second animal for the Eldridge Park Carousel restoration, the Honey Bear. John says, "This is the only truly "new" animal to be on the carousel. The board wanted to have a local animal included in the menagerie and chose a Black Bear."

Our story will be taking you from the raw basswood in the bed of John's pickup truck to the final carving which will look a lot like his colorful sketch you see below in the lower right hand corner. John's drawings and plans and skillful artistry will get us there.
