THE STORY OF
THE HONEY BEAR - continued
| John Kolanach
was present at the July 4, 2003 festivities at Eldridge Park and
actually worked on the honey bear at the EPCPS exhibit, much to
the delight of the crowds of Elmirans who were in attendance. |

A
photo showing the Honey Bear's wooden heart and John's woodburned
logo. Seeing the wooden heart actually brought tears to one onlooker,
according to Bob Lyon. The heart attracted quite a few of the
kids, whose parents lifted them up to see inside.

A photo
showing another view of the hollow inside, or "coffin"
which it is traditionally called. If you look closely you can
see where people wrote praises and prayers during the time when
John had packed up his tools to go enjoy the festivities. He says
he treasures these messages as they are personal and for those
few who know - the messages are inside the Honey Bear.
