his notice is to inform you that the Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society has decided to host our own carousel conference in Elmira, NY. This is essentially the same informational and fun filled event that we had outlined at the 2007 NCA conference in Seattle, Washington/Portland, Oregon and will host the speakers as discussed. However, this conference is not affiliated with the National Carousel Association. Please refer to the Agenda for a preliminary outline of the activities. You will also see advertisements for this event in the Carousel News and Trader ®. The latest updates will appear here at our website when new events are added.

The goal of this conference is to unite ALL carousel enthusiasts, NCA members or non-members, to network while sharing thoughts, ideas and knowledge regarding aspects of carousel carving, painting, mechanical/electrical issues, hardware suggestions, fund raising, promoting community cohesiveness and much more. At the same time, we invite you to relax and enjoy some wonderful planned activities in our beautiful Southern Tier, NY location. We will be including information the many attractions that you can visit on your own, if you plan on an extended visit. Examples: Binghamton Carousels, Corning Glass Museum and Historic Market Street, Mark Twain Study and gravesite, The Finger Lakes, Harris Hill-Soaring Capital of the World Museum… just to name a few.

We are thrilled to be able to welcome the Adirondack and Maryland Carousel Organizations and all of you to our seminar. This promises to be fun filled, action packed and informational. PLEASE note that you need to make reservations ASAP as there are multiple graduations and other seminars being held in Elmira and the surrounding regions that weekend. (Also, don’t forget to mention when making your reservations that you are with the Carousel Convention.)
