or us kids, these KiddieLand race cars were better than the bumper cars. Getting out on that open highway was the difference. You could get up to speed and pretend you were on your way somewhere important. Like Corning. Who cared that they had two steering wheels? Who cared that Mom made you ride with your baby sister. Who cared that the rail down the center kept you from turning off and leaving them in the dust. It was fun and it lasted forever, or seemed to.
