ELDRIDGE
PARK
Opportunities
to be part of the story
|
|
WHEN
YOU ARE DECIDING ON A NAMING RIGHT,
PLEASE THINK ABOUT THIS
|
- The
carousel and all improvements to the building and surrounding
area belong to the Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society
and therefore our community.
- This
is truly a historic endeavor. Rarely has this region had an
opportunity to bring back from the brink, a piece of history
that engenders such cross cultural and intergenerational enthusiasm.
- This
is an opportunity of a lifetime
to be able to memorialize
a loved one, honor your corporation or family by becoming
part of this beautiful story just makes sense
something
that will last for countless generations.
- All
naming rights and gifting levels can be donated over a period
of years. For example, a group of 100 people at $50 per year
for 3 years can sponsor an inner row animal; for 4 years,
a middle row animal; and for 5 years, one of the few remaining
outer row animals. Simple math also tells us that 5 people
at $1,000 per year can sponsor an inner row animal in 3 years,
a middle row animal in 4 years, and an outer row after 5 years.
Similarly, 20 people pledging a $500 single gift can sponsor
a chariot.
- A
cast metal plaque will be mounted beneath every sponsored
animal bearing the name of the animal, followed by the sponsor's
name(s), corporate name or a catchy phrase. In addition, a
photo of every sponsored animal and background information
provided by the sponsor will permanently become part of our
"Gallery of Sponsors" inside the carousel building.
- THIS
PROJECT NEEDS YOUR HELP NOW! Give
generously and often. We should not turn our backs on this
and lose this historic gem as we did in 1989.

Penny
Press
Mary Lyon spent 3 months designing
the artwork for this old fashioned addition to the Eldridge
Park Carousel building. You simply place 2 quarters and a
penny in the slots, select which of the 4 designs you wish
crushed into your penny, turn the crank and wha-lah!!! The
Penny Press is located between the gift shop and the Eatery
with a change machine adjacent and is AVAILABLE
for sponsorship.

Shields
Local
talent and artisans (including Pat Saxe, JoAnn Smith, Julie
Thurber, Mary Lyon, and Suzette Morgan) have recreated these
magnificent handmade, handpainted works of art from photos
of the originals. They are located on the upper rounding boards
of the carousel above the animals. There are twenty in number
and
16 are still AVAILABLE
for sponsorship. A photo of each sponsored shield along
with written information desired by that
sponsor will be mounted in our
"Gallery of Sponsors".
